Octolamp

Live Octopus energy use.

See what your home is drawing right now. Octolamp reads your Octopus Home Mini straight from your iPhone and shows live watts, what you have used today, and what it is costing — with your gas beside it, and an Apple Watch app for a glance at your wrist.

What it shows

No Home Mini? It still works

The Home Mini is a small free device from Octopus that sends a reading every few seconds, and it is what makes live use possible. Without one, Octolamp reads your smart meter's own half-hourly record instead: you get your history, costs and insights, about a day behind. The app asks which you have when you set it up, and only shows what it can actually deliver.

What it costs

Everything on the iPhone is free for seven days. After that, live use on the iPhone stays free for good, and a single payment of £6.99 unlocks the rest — the charts, gas, costs, tariff comparison, widgets and the Apple Watch app. One payment, no subscription, and it is shared with your family if you use Family Sharing.

Your data stays on your phone

There is no Octolamp account and no Octolamp server. Your Octopus API key is kept in your iPhone's Keychain and is sent to Octopus alone, to fetch your own readings. Nothing about you or your usage reaches us, because there is nowhere for it to go. Read the full privacy policy.

Available now
